R. Luz Mayberg - Associate, is a graduate of New York Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2008. She is a member of the Alameda County Bar, Contra Costa county Bar and San Francisco Bar Associations. Before joining Blum, Gibbs, Davies & Owen in 2017, Luz worked for the Bar Association of San Francisco in the Family Law Section where she provided legal assistance to self-represented litigants. She has volunteered with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights where she represented clients in their asylum applications. Luz also has experience practicing in class action Employment Discrimination cases through her work as the Ruth Chance Law Fellow at Equal Rights Advocates.  During law school, she was president of the Latino Law Students Association and interned with the Urban Law Clinic, the Honorable Rosalyn H. Richter in the New York State Supreme Court and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Critical Race Theory from Mills College. She is fluent in Spanish. She also teaches indoor cycling in her spare time.
